Christina Smith is an accomplished attorney who brings a wealth of experience to her family law practice. She began her legal career representing abused and neglected children in dependency actions. It was here that she developed her skills in dealing with complicated family issues in an emotionally charged environment.
Christina went on to practice general civil litigation where she represented major multinational corporate clients in complex litigation. This experience broadened her litigation knowledge and added another skill set that many family law attorneys do not possess.
She has continued to advocate on behalf of children throughout her legal career and ultimately focused her practice in family law. She is drawn to family law because of the high level of expertise it demands across many areas such as complex financial issues, alternative dispute resolution, litigation, parenting and domestic violence.
Christina has expanded her practice into the field of Collaborative Law, which is a non-adversarial dispute resolution process where clients are empowered to create durable agreements affecting their children and finances. She finds that the Collaborative process can greatly minimize the impact of conflict on clients and their children while navigating the difficult process of divorce. In her current practice, Christina always keeps in mind how decisions made in a client’s case now will affect their family system for years to come.
